New Ing Lodge is a group let perched just on the edge of the Lake District in the village of Shap. We are a easily accessible from different corners of the country thanks to being just a few minutes drive from the M6 and only a short drive away from the beautiful Lake District National Park.

The house has 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms sleeping all together 30 people. The breakdown of the rooms is the following:
2 x doubles with their own private bathrooms (one bed in king size)
2 x double ensuite (one is king size double)
2 x triple en suite (one is 3 single beds, one is a king size double and a single)
2 x family en suite (both king size double and 2 singles + space for a cot if required)
2 x 4-bedded dormitory rooms with private bathrooms
All the bedding and towels are provided for the bedrooms and there’s complementary shower gels and hand washes in the bathrooms.
Besides the bedrooms, we have a comfortable living room with a log burner and adjoining dining room that can easily sit 24 guests. There is also a large kitchen with a 5 ring gas hob, oven and plenty of fridge space in two of our fridges. You can find everything for your self-catering needs in the kitchen. GROUNDS AND GARDEN
There is an acre of kept grounds at the back of the building, which is perfect for running around for kids and adults alike. There are also a couple of picnic tables and an undercover seating/smoking area as well as a charcoal barbecue for you to use (you would need to bring your own charcoal). There is also a volleyball net at the top of the field for some friendly matches. As well as the back garden, there is also a walled orchard at the front of the property.
BAR You can also be the landlord/lady of your own little pub here at New Ing Lodge. Our cosy bar The Staggering Wanderer can fit many happy people and we’d be more than happy to stock it with some delicious local ales and lager. We offer beers from Eden, Tirril and Hawkeshead Brewery, all locaded within 15 miles from our door.
Please find beer list with prices below.There are plenty of pint glasses, wine glasses, champagne flutes and tumblers to make your serving easy. You are also welcome to complement the beer with any of your own drinks of choice that you might want to bring with you.

MEALS Although you have the full use of our kitchen during your stay, why not have a completely relaxing weekend and let us take care of some or all of your meals while you are here. We offer a hearty breakfast andvarious evening meal options. When the season allows, we are also happy to light up the barbecue and cook up a delightful meal there. You can find our sample menuhere but we are also happy to discuss any of your requests or requirements!
Parking: there is room for up to 10 cars on site. You can park 3-4 cars in front of the house and more at the back of the house. If you have more than 10 vehicles, you might need to park some of the off site on the side of the road.
Checking in: check in is from 15:30 onwards on the day of your arrival. Please let us know before when you are planning to arrive so that we can arrange to be here for that time. A member of staff will show you in and give you the ins and outs of everything you need to know about the house. Checking out: check out is 10:30 on the day of your departure. Dogs: we are dog friendly and you are welcome to bring your four-legged friends to have a good time with you. We would normally charge £5 for dogs.

Shap village has a Co-op, which is just two minutes’ walk down the road from us and it’s open every day from 7 am to 10 pm (times vary on bank holidays). There is also an award-winning fish & chip shop and two pubs, cafe, butchers newsagents and post office and New Balance outlet in the village, all of which are in walking distance.
There is also a large playing field, a spacious children’s play area and astro-turf games area as well as England’s highest open air swimming pool in Shap.
WHAT TO DO
You will not find yourself in lack of things to do in the area. We are located just on the edge of the Lake District, which is a great playground for all sorts of outdoor activities. The Pennines and the less known but just as magnificent Howgills are only a short drive away. They all offer wonderful days out for walking. There are also walks for all abilities straight from our door, just ask us and we’ll be happy to point you towards the right direction! Lowther Castle and Gardens are only a 15-minute drive away from us and offer enough to do and see for everyone. Their Lost Castle Playground also many adults forget their age as they try the climbs and slides!
